Plastic clamps
The scope of handles with a screw and nut is hardly inferior to plugs: furniture, household appliances, washing machines, refrigeration, medical and sports equipment, photographic equipment. Indeed, if you pay attention, in every office there are more than a dozen ways to apply plastic clamps. Lamps, table holders, parts of equipment are fastened together with clamps (for example, in tripods).
Kinds of clamps
Depending on the purpose of use the product is divided into:
- Clamps with a bolt (from M6 to M10) – also called a winged screw with a plastic handle and are required to hold the structure in a certain position;
- clamps with a nut (from M4 to M12) – in a different way they are called a wing-nut, they have different shapes of a handle (propeller, screw, ball, etc.) and are used to tighten the parts of the structure with each other;
- through clamps (from M4 to M10) – look similar to the clamps with a nut, but they have a through hole, due to which they are used with a threaded rod of any length.
Only metal / steel variants were used ten years ago. Now – plastic with a cast metal nut. There are several reasons for it:
- Plastic is durable, the product does not rust;
- It is more convenient to wind the clamp by means of special shape of the handle;
- Now it is possible to cast products in a variety of colors and even with the logo.
