The purpose of these items is the same as of all plugs: pipe protection from deformation, debris and moisture. In some cases (for example, if the plug is used as a leg support of a furniture metal structure), they keep the floor covering from scratching. The main application of rectangular plugs is the production of racks, fences and other metal structures. Using stubs in furniture allows you to improve the appearance of items, make the design complete.

When choosing, you should remember that there are 2 types of rectangular plugs: internal and external. The first ones are represented by the models with different types of ribs in the approaching part. They can have internal thread (it is recommended to purchase as one set with threaded support), with a thick, thin, decorative or spherical chrome coating head. Also you can buy inclined rectangular plugs (at an angle to the base), intended for pipes with the end part at a certain angle: 15, 20 or 30 degrees to the base. External plugs are worn on the upper part of the pipe, that allows you to close a large surface of the pipe's end than the internal plugs. Therefore, in the case where the pipe is sawn unevenly or has any flaws at the end that should be hidden, the external plug is the best decision.
